NAPHL Showcase Blaine: RoughRiders 3 Omaha AAA 2
After one period of play, the RoughRiders and Omaha are tied 1-1. Shots on goal are 10 apiece. Omaha got off to a good start and controlled the play over the first five minutes. The RoughRiders fell behind 1-0 but evened it up with a short-handed goal. The RoughRiders picked up the pace playing well with a man down the last three minutes of the period.
With 12:15 remaining in the second period the RoughRiders pulled ahead 2-1. An interesting note in this NAPHL Showcase is that they zam the ice at the 8:30 mark of the second period (half way through the game). Not sure if they do this at each showcase. The RoughRiders have a slight edge in shots on goal 13-10 at the break. The RoughRiders have held a 3-1 lead after two periods of play. Omaha had a 17-16 edge in shots on goal.
Omaha opened scored a goal early in the third period. The RoughRiders continued to control play going on to win the game 3-2. The RoughRiders out shot Omaha 27-19 for the game.

NAPHL Showcase Blaine: RoughRiders 6 Pikes Peak Miners 3
The Rocky Mountain RoughRiders U18 team beat the Pikes Peak Miners 6-3 in the second game of the NAPHL Showcase in Blaine, MN. The RoughRiders lead throughout the game, pulling away in the second period. The RoughRiders out shot the Miners 30-16 in the game.
It sounds as though the RoughRiders controlled play much as they did the first time these two teams played in Colorado Springs. This time they put the puck in the net.
After playing the two games on Thursday, the RoughRiders have just one game each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. That should give them plenty of rest throughout the rest of the showcase.

FastHockey: Watching RoughRiders Hockey on the Internet
Back on August 14, the North American Hockey League (NAPHL) announced that FASTHockey (FASTHockey.com) had been named the Official Internet Broadcast Provider of the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL).
FASTHockey will also stream live all five NAPHL regular-season events, as well as the Championship Tournament Series and Top Prospects Tournament.
Just today, the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) has announced that all games at this week’s event in Blaine, MN will be broadcast live over the Internet through FASTHockey at http://www.fasthockey.com/. Held in conjunction with the eighth annual NAHL Showcase Tournament, sponsored by SBK Hockey, the NAPHL event - the first of the season - will run from Sept. 16-19 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.
Before viewers can watch the games, they must sign up for an account, which is free. Viewers must provide a valid e-mail address after which FASTHockey will send a verification link they must click on. To register, visit http://www.fasthockey.com/registration. Once you create a account (log-in/password) you are then able to search for games. There are a few search options. The drop-down calendar worked great. Just click on the date and a list of games comes up. Just navigate to your game of choice.
FASTHockey uses a unique game-credit system for viewing games, offering discounts to customers who watch multiple games. Unlike the traditional “pass” system, game credits give users the opportunity to watch content from multiple leagues, teams and events. Game credits can be purchased at any time, never expire, and when purchased in bulk offer significant discounts over buying one at a time.
