The
Rock Mountain RoughRiders U18 team was shutout for the second time in the
NAPHL Showcase in Massachusetts. The
San Jose Jr. Sharks came into today's game with a 9-3-1 record and set to take on the RoughRiders who headed into the game with a 9-4-0 record. The game was evenly matched throughout except that the RoughRiders could not get a shot past the Jr. Sharks goalie.
The Sharks scored one goal in each period, the third period goal was an empty net score. The shots on goal were even for the game at 23-23. The RoughRiders were 0-5 on the power play while the Sharks converted one of their three power play opportunities.
This was a great opportunity for the RoughRiders to break through against a top notch team. They will have another chance later in the season against the Jr. Sharks.
The RoughRiders face the
Milwaukee Jr. Admirals on Monday to close out play in the NAPHL Showcase. The Jr. Admirals currently have a record of 9-4-0 with one game left today against the Thunder AAA who has a record of 10-2-1.
