Colorado Rampage 5 Rocky Mountain RoughRiders 3

The Rocky Mountain RoughRiders fell to the Colorado Rampage for the second time in two days. The RoughRiders lead most of the game and held a 3-1 lead over the Rampage. However, frequent trips to the penalty box seemed to take away from the play that created the early lead for the RoughRiders. The Rampage evened the game up at 3-3 in the third and scored a late goal to take a 4-3 lead. An empty net goal by the Rampage capped the scoring. The ninth ranked Rampage remained unbeaten on the season.

The RoughRiders look to bounce back next weekend with two CAHA League games against the Pikes Peak Miners.

Colorado Rampage 5 Rocky Mountain RoughRiders 2

The Rocky Mountain RoughRiders fell to the Colorado Rampage tonight 5-2. Despite out shooting the Rampage 30-17 in the game, the RoughRiders came up short. The Rampage made the most of their opportunities throughout the game and the RoughRiders did not.

These two teams meet again tomorrow in Monument, CO when the Rampage play host to the RoughRiders. The RoughRiders will have to be a little better about not giving up odd man rushes. They will also have to cut down on the turnovers. On the positive side of things, the RoughRiders out shot the Rampage each period finishing up with the 30-17 advantage in shots on goal. They will have their chance at 1:30 pm on Saturday.

U18 RoughRiders and Alliance Bulldogs Tie 1-1

With 11.4 seconds remaining in the game, the Alliance Bulldogs from Irving, TX scored the tying goal with an extra attacker on the ice. Having pulled their goalie, the Bulldogs were attempting to do what they had not done all game, score a goal. The RoughRiders struggling to clear the puck from the zone allowed the Bulldogs one final shot. The Bulldogs scored and the game ended in a 1-1 tie. The RoughRiders U18 team, looked as if they would come away with a 1-0 victory. It was not to be. Missed opportunities and somewhat sloppy play caught up with them with 11.4 seconds remaining.

Sometimes in sports a tie feels like a win and sometimes it feels like a loss. This one felt like a loss. The RoughRiders out shot the Bulldogs 27-17 for the game but could not find a way to put more than one puck in the net.

Official Gamesheet

Next up on October 8 & 9 will be two CAHA League games against the Colorado Rampage.
