U18 RoughRiders Top Madison Capitals 3-2 in T1EHL Play

Kansas City, MO - The U18 Rocky Mountain RoughRiders finished out the weekend in Kansas City with a 3-2 win over the Madison Capitals. The RoughRiders, fighting off injuries to one forward and two defensemen, played short handed much of the weekend.

The final game of the weekend found the Capitals scoring the first goal followed by a RoughRiders goal less than a minute later in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period. The RoughRiders scored two goals in the first half of the third period to take a 3-1 lead. The Capitals scored a goal late in the period.

The RoughRiders out shot the Capitals 28-24 in the game and had three penalties compared to four penalties by the Capitals. Jonathan Loeffler stopped 22 of the 24 shots he faced for the RoughRiders during the game.

Next up for the U18's will be a pair of games against the Colorado Rampage on October 8 in Monument and October 9 in Westminster. These games will count as league games in the T1EHL as well as in CAHA.

The U18 RoughRiders now have an overall record of 4-2-1 and a 2-2-0 record in Tier 1 Elite Hockey League play.
