St. Louis Amateur Blues Top U18 RoughRiders 3-0

Kansas City, MO - A banged up U18 RoughRiders squad fell 3-0 on Saturday night to the St. Louis Amateur Blues. The RoughRiders had to go with four defenseman for this T1EHL game. Fatigue was going to be an additional challenge for the RoughRiders. The Blues scored one goal in each of the three periods en route to shutting out the RougRiders. Sam Mallory stopped 31 of the 34 shots he faced and the RoughRiders managed only 12 shots against the Blues. The RoughRiders also went to the penalty box six times compared to three times by the St. Louis Amateur Blues.

Next up will be the final game in Kansas City against the Madison Capitals.

The RoughRiders now have an overall record of 3-2-1 and a 1-2-0 record in Tier 1 Elite Hockey League play.

U18 RoughRiders Win 6-2 Over The Milwaukee Jr. Admirals

Kansas City, MO - The U18 Rocky Mountain RoughRiders bounced back from the 2-1 loss to the Chicago Fury in a big way. The RoughRiders beat the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals 6-2 this Saturday morning in Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) play. Each team scored a goal apiece in the first period. The RoughRiders scored three goals in the second and held a 4-1 lead going into the third period. The RoughRiders added two more goals in the third period while the Jr. Admirals added one. Rudy Junda scored the RoughRiders last three goals of the game and recorded the first hat trick of the season for the team. The RoughRiders out shot the Jr. Admirals 30-25 and both teams had just two penalties during the game. Jonathon Loeffler was in net for the RoughRiders stopping 28 of 30 shots for the game.

U18 RoughRiders Fall 2-1 To The Chicago Fury

Kansas City, MO - The U18 Rocky Mountain RoughRiders dropped it's first Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) game of the season to the Chicago Fury on Friday night in Kansas City. The Fury scored both of their goals in the first period in this fast paced game. The RoughRiders scored their only goal in the third period. The Fury out shot the RoughRiders for the game 22-11. Sam Mallory was in net for the RoughRiders stopping 20 of 22 shots. The RoughRiders went to the box three times and the Fury went just once.

U18 RoughRiders Win Two Over Utah's NW Regulators


#17 Rudy Junda, #24 George Gruber and #15 Duncan Reeves
Westminster, CO - The U18 Rocky Mountain RoughRiders posted two non-league wins this past weekend over the Northwest Regulators from Salt Lake City, Utah. The RoughRiders won the Friday night encounter 5-3 and the Saturday morning game 6-0.
The Friday night game was marred by penalties throughout. It ended with fifteen penalties for the RoughRiders and thirteen penalties for the Regulators. The RoughRiders out shot the Regulators 50-12 on the night. Matt Anders and Rudy Junda tallied two goals apiece and Noah Eckebrecht added a goal to round out the scoring. With the Friday night game, the RoughRiders improved to 1-0-1 for the season.

The RoughRiders had only four penalties in the Saturday game with the Regulators. In addition to taking less penalties, the RoughRiders moved the puck well controlling the tempo the entire game. The RoughRiders out shot the Regulators 48-9, scoring one goal in the first period, two in the second and three in the third. Matt Anders scored the first two goals followed by Rudy Junda, Robert Salvato, Hunter Clark and Noah Eckebrecht. The RoughRiders improved their record to 2-0-1 on the season.

The RoughRiders begin Tier 1 Elite Hockey League play this next weekend, September 30 through October 2 in Kansas City. They will face off on Friday against the Chicago Fury, on Saturday against the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals and the St. Louis Amateur Blues and close out the league showcase on Sunday against the Madison Capitols.
